As part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Japan's House of Culture opened its doors to welcome the delegation of Japanese athletes, and entrusted WENES Event's events team with the mission of transforming its spaces for this prestigious event.
Transform the House of Japanese Culture into a multifunctional space capable of accommodating sports facilities as well as more formal areas, while preserving the cultural essence of the site.
Designing a bespoke event space to reinvent the Maison de la Culture du Japon. Thanks to a meticulous layout and innovative aesthetic solutions, we rose to the challenge of combining tradition and modernity to offer a memorable experience to the Japanese delegation and their guests.
Over the course of the project, WENES Event quickly established a relationship of trust with the Maison de la Culture du Japon thanks to its tailor-made approach. Initially asked to take charge of a specific part of the event, the agency was able to demonstrate its expertise and, given the quality of its solutions and its mastery of the logistical aspects, WENES Event was entrusted with the entire organization, ensuring smooth execution in line with expectations.
To meet this challenge, we came up with an event plan adapted to the specific features of the Olympic Games. The challenge was to rethink the layout of both indoor and outdoor spaces.
A zone dedicated to partners, an exhibition area to showcase athletes' medals, a space for press releases and a retrospective of the Tokyo 2020 Games... Everything has been designed to prolong the Olympic experience and reinforce the feeling of sharing and pride.
Signage were a key element of the layout, spread over three floors with more than sixty elements, some reaching 14 meters in length and 4 meters in height. We selected materials suited to each surface: fabric on plywood for the large structures, repositionable adhesive for fragile walls, and PVC posters. Floors were made of non-slip PVC, and aluminum structures were used to ensure lightness and stability, while meeting safety and durability requirements.
La Terrasse on the 5th flooris the main challenge of this event! We set up a shading system to provide protection from the sun, while taking into account a major constraint: the very strong wind load. The space, located high up, required a solution that was both robust and discreet to guarantee safety. Another factor that our teams had to anticipate and manage was the restricted access and the transport of imposing materials.
The installation took place in just two days! Meticulous organization was required to cope with access constraints, notably due to the simultaneous opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
